Don't Take It Out!

Far too often I am approached by people who have had their Thyroid gland surgically removed due to chronic health conditions.  Unfortunately for those people, the Thyroid gland is the single most important gland in the body.  It would be similar to removing the steering wheel from your car and going for a drive, your are eventually going to crash!

Instead of having a Thyroid taken out we want to strengthen the gland by taking the most pressure off the immune system from avoiding foods that contain Gluten.  Foods such as wheats, barley, oats, rye, spelt and numerous other foods can all trigger the immune system causing an auto-immune reaction.  This reaction will cause your body to feel: Bloated, fatigued, achy, itchy, irritated, sleepless, hair will fall out, skin and nail become dried and flakey as well.

The safest foods will be: Meats, fruits, vegetables, walnuts, almonds, and coconut.  Initially this will severely limit the foods you consume but it will stop the immune system from destroying the Thyroid gland and calming down the auto-immune reaction.

Such Thyroid conditions like Hashimoto's disease, Hypothyroidism, and Hyperthyroidism are all traits of  auto-immune reactions that will leave you wanting to pull your hair out in frustration.

Be sure to have the Thyroid antibodies checked to rule out an auto-immune process.
